Nova EUropa stands for a modern society committed to the values of enlightenment and an economic policy that combines social market economy with ecological sustainability. In order to regain the currently lost dominance of democratic over economic power in a globalised world, we deem the foundation of a European federal state, the European Republic, as necessary.

At the beginning of the 21st century, Europe and indeed the World are facing a great number of threatening challenges:

• Climate change caused by humankind may turn into an ecological disaster. " ... we are the last generation that can prevent disaster ..." (Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic, European Parliament, Strasbourg, July 10th, 2008). 

• Globalisation of neoliberal ideology limits national economic policy. In 2008 it nearly caused the collapse of world finance system and it caused the most serious economic crises since the 1930s.

• Also in Europe cultural conflicts between our secular and enlightened model of civilisation and Islamist models of society are intensifying.

We need a European federal state to regain the primacy of politics over economics and our freedom of action. Our concept envisions a European federation, the European Republic, constituted by EU-member states around France and Germany, as one sole, sovereign member of the European Union. These states should identify themselves with the European economic and social model and should have reached economic convergence in a sufficient extent.

In the context of the project « Vision 2020 » Nova EUropa is developing an integrated political concept which gives answers to the challenges mentioned above. By abandoning ideological positions which are prejudicial for the solution of problems we develop a modern Christian social policy.

• Our ideas on society are based on the concept of a secular, enlightened political system and universally applicable human rights. We as Christian-Socials regard our culture as a product of both Christianity and Enlightenment.

• Our economic policy is based on the concept of ecological social market economy. The collapse of finance-capitalism based on the ideology of neoliberalism has proved our positions. Now the globalisation of market-fundamentalist capitalism must be succeeded by the globalisation of ecologically-sustainable social market economy.

• Our foreign and security policies draw on a realistic view on the world and include exemplary behaviour, soft diplomacy, economic aid, subsidies and sanctions, but also military force as last resort. The European Republic as a global player would have the opportunity to form the world according to an enlightened idea of man and society and a common-welfare-orientated and ecologically-sustainable social market economic model.
